- Fault codes read from the engine and the other control units
- The measurements the fault calls for: voltage, pressure, temperature, exhaust gas
- Road test, if the fault appears while driving
- Inspection on the lift
- A written account: what the fault is, what the repair costs, and what happens if it is left
What the price does not include
- The repair itself. We credit the diagnostic charge if you have it done here.
- Dismantling parts, if finding the fault requires it. We tell you before we take anything apart.
- A second hour, if the fault is one of the rare ones the first does not find. We ask before going on.

When this work becomes due
A fault code is not a fault. It is a record that a control unit saw a value outside the expected range. The same code can come from a sensor, a wire, a connector, or from the component the code appears to blame. The most expensive mistake in motoring is replacing the part named in the code.
So we read the codes and then we measure. The difference is that the code tells you where to look and the measurement tells you what is broken. That takes time, and time is what we charge for, because time is what the work costs.
Book a diagnostic when a warning light is on, when the car does not start properly, when there is a noise from underneath, when consumption has risen with no explanation, or when something simply feels different. Tell us everything you have noticed, including what seems irrelevant. When the fault appears is often more useful than what it sounds like.
An intermittent fault is the hardest to find and does not always show itself the first time. We say so plainly when that is the case, and we do not guess. Nor do we replace parts experimentally at your expense.
You can come in for a diagnostic without booking. A booked slot gets you seen sooner, but if the warning light came on today, come in.
If we find something else
We do not start work you do not know about. If we find something beyond what was agreed, we call and tell you what it costs and what happens if it is left undone. You decide.
A fixed price does not change without your permission. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time, the law allows us up to 150 € of minor and necessary additional work.
We work to the motor vehicle service and repair terms approved by the consumer advisory board of the Finnish motor trade.
